CV tips for AI matching
Vanguard Select scores your profile against live briefs using structured data extracted from your CV and application. Clear facts and dates produce cleaner signals than narrative alone. Use the checklist below so the matching engine can align you to the right mandates without guesswork.
Why structure matters
Briefs specify environments, languages, grades, locations and risk context. When your CV spells out the same categories in a consistent way, the engine can measure overlap instead of inferring from prose. Ambiguity or missing dates often lowers match confidence even when your experience is strong.
Include this on your CV
- Specific qualifications with dates and providers — course name, awarding body, month/year. Renewal dates where relevant.
- Operational deployments with theatres of operation — region or theatre label; timeframe. Sanitised where classification or client confidentiality applies.
- Principal types and contexts (sanitised) — e.g. family office, corporate, diplomatic, media (no identifying names unless you choose and policy allows).
- Team sizes commanded or led — number of personnel under your direction where accurate; distinguishes individual contributor from leadership roles.
- Languages and proficiency levels — working proficiency, operational fluency, or mother tongue; avoid unqualified claims.
- Driving and vehicle experience — licence classes, defensive / advanced courses, category of vehicles, rough mileage or operational driving context if material.
- Specialist training with providers — medical, weapons system, surveillance, maritime, aviation-ground, or other accredited modules; date and institution.
- First aid and medical qualifications — FPOS, FREC, EMT-equivalent, etc., with expiry.
Discretion
Protect principals and past employers: describe context in generic terms where required. The goal is enough structured truth for matching, not unnecessary exposure of sensitive detail.
